29 December 2023
Interministerial Committee for Economic Planning and Sustainable Development (
CIPESS) Resolution of 30 November 2023 (Resolution no. 41/2023) was published yesterday in the
Official Journal General Series no. 301 of 28 December 2023. Among other measures, the act allocates the subsidies provided for the year 2022 as a compensatory measure in favour of the territories hosting nuclear power plants and those being decommissioned.
The total amount to be allocated for 2022 to 72 entities involved in carrying out works and building infrastructures for territorial development and renewal is around 14.5 million euros.
Pursuant to Article 4(1-bis) of
Italian Decree Law no. 314/2003 as converted by
Italian Law no. 368/2003, this amount is apportioned among the various territorial entities according to the radiometric inventory estimates of each site drawn up annually by the National Inspectorate for Nuclear Safety and Radiation Protection (
ISIN).
The contribution due to each territory is, in turn, paid by the CSEA (Cassa per i Servizi Energetici e Ambientali) as follows: 50% to the municipality hosting the site, 25% to the relevant province, and 25% to the municipalities bordering the municipality concerned, in proportion to their surface area and resident population within a radius of 10 km from the plant.
