Enrico Zio wins Humboldt Research Award

Enrico Zio, member of the
Sogin Board of Director and Professor at
Politecnico di Milano and
MINES ParisTech, has won the
Humboldt Research Award, one the world's most prestigious research awards for his scientific achievements in Reliability, Risk and Resilience Assessment, Safety Analysis and Reliability Engineering of complex systems and infrastructures, especially for energy applications.
The prize is awarded by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation to outstandingly qualified researchers from science-related fields, in recognition of the researcher's entire achievements to date, to academics whose fundamental discoveries, new theories, or insights have had a significant impact on their own discipline and who are expected to continue producing cutting-edge achievements in the future.
As a Humboldt Research Award winner, Enrico Zio is invited to carry out
research projects in cooperation with specialist colleagues in Germany. In particular, he will build a collaborative research project with the Leibniz Universität’s Institute for Risk and Reliability.
