Open Gate 2019 “Sold-out”

More than 5,000 participants: 3,000 citizens participating and 2,000 on the waiting list.
Tickets “sold-out” for the
third edition of Open Gate, Sogin’s event to open the decommissioning plants of Trino (VC), Caorso (PC), Latina and Garigliano (CE) to the public on 13 – 14 April.
More than 5,000 participants for the Open Gate 2019. The 2,976 tickets to visit the nuclear plants (920 in Trino, 880 in Caorso, 756 in Latina and 420 in Garigliano) are sold-out, a number that includes two additional visits in the plant of Caorso. In addition to that, the 2,000 people who were not able to get the tickets for the visits, subscribed to the mailing list to be informed about future events.
The event will be sponsored by the Ministry of Environment and Protection of Land and Sea and it will be a plastic-free day to highlight Sogin’s commitment in sustainability.
The visitors of Trino, Caorso and Garigliano plants will enjoy two tours: “Controlled Area” and “Industrial Area”; while visitors of Latina Plant will only have the “Industrial Area” tour.
During the visits, technical staff from Sogin will guide visitors to the discovery of historical facts about the plants, as well as information about dismantling operations and radioactive waste management procedures aimed at closing the Italian nuclear cycle while ensuring the safety of people and the protection of the environment.
