Sogin and Kings sign Memorandum of Understanding on nuclear training

On september the 12th, Mr. Gian Luca Artizzu, CEO of Sogin, and prof. Chang Lak Kim, Executive Dean of Kings, Kepco International Nuclear Graduate School, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at exchanging information and experiences and developing training programs in the nuclear field.
 
Kings is the in-house University of Kepco, the South Korean company responsible for, throught its subsidiary KHNP, 26 nuclear reactors,
 
The agreement, which will last three years, aims to achieve three objectives:
 
  1. Knowledge development: enhancing the training of technical staff, ranging from professional courses to advanced university masters, with a specific focus on decommissioning of nuclear plants and management of radioactive waste. 
  2. Sharing of experience facilitating mutual personal acquaintance and direct learning of best practices through meetings between the technical staff of the two companies. ​
  3. Program development and implementation: creating and implement educational programs and workshop on nuclear related issues.
 
The agreement was formalized at the end of four days of meetings between representatives of the two companies, that are both Collaboration Centers of the IAEA, International Atomic Energy Agency, a period during which the Korean delegation had also the opportunity to visit the Latina nuclear power plant and the Opec and Ipu plants alonside to the Nucleco headquarters and laboratories, all based at the Casaccia Research center on the outskirts of Rome.
