Sogin, no misinformation about Casaccia

Contrary to what has been reported by certain media outlets, there has been no "nuclear incident”, and any information circulating in this regard is without any basis.
On 21 November, during radioactive waste management activities within the Plutonium facility, which is located in the Enea centre in Casaccia, an "internal contamination” event occurred, where an employee potentially exceeded the annual dose limits prescribed by law.
Sogin immediately informed all the relevant Authorities regarding what had happened.
As is ordinarily the case, the procedures stipulated by law aimed at protecting the health of workers were immediately activated.
The monitoring carried out and completed this afternoon recorded values that were reassuring. Sogin will continue to monitor the situation in accordance with established procedures.
Sogin categorically excludes that there has been any contamination of the external environment.
