Sogin publishes the CNAPI comments

After receiving the go-ahead from the Ministries of Economic Development and the Environment and Protection of Land and Sea (now the Ministry of Ecological Transition), Sogin has published on the website
depositonazionale.it the
comments and technical proposals received on the CNAPI, the National Charter of Potentially Suitable Areas, published on 5 January together with the Preliminary Design of the National Repository and Technology Park (DNPT) and all related documents.
A total of 320 comments and technical proposals were published, amounting to over 20,000 pages consisting of acts, documents, studies, technical reports, and maps.
The types of senders who sent comments in this first phase of Consultation closed on 5 July are represented in percentage by Local authorities (47%), of which regions 3%, provinces 3% and municipalities 41%; associations, committees, professional orders and schools (28%); private citizens (19%); small businesses (5%) and the Superintendencies of the Ministry of Culture (1%).
The documentation involved in the Consultation, which is carried out according to Law no. 241 of 7 August 1990, is available on the website depositonazionale.it is divided into "National Charter of Potentially Suitable Areas" and "Preliminary Project".
The National Workshop, scheduled in the autumn, will provide an opportunity to discuss technical proposals and comments. At the end of the discussions, the Public Consultation will resume. This is the first time that a Public Consultation is held in Italy on an infrastructure of national importance that will optimize the safe management of radioactive waste produced in our country, in analogy with other European countries.
