During the three-day event, Sogin took part in debates that highlighted the importance of integrated approaches to environmental remediation. Among the highlights, President Carlo Massagli contributed to the discussion on "Sustainable Reclamation", emphasising the need to carry out effective interventions in synergy with local stakeholders. CEO, Gian Luca Artizzu participated in the roundtable "Legality and business in the just transition", highlighting the fundamental role of companies in ensuring a sustainable future.
The presentations continued with Belinda Sepe, Director of Administration, Resources, Systems and ICT, outlining the corporate welfare initiatives promoted by Sogin. Vinicio Gragnanini shared the results of the first pilot facility for the reclamation of chlorinated solvent plume, a project that his colleagues Elena Bunone and Pina Volpicelli were also involved in. As part of RemTech Europe, Rossella Sciacqua presented the OPEC 2 project, an example of reconversion and enhancement of an existing building at the Casaccia site for the temporary storage of radioactive waste, in conjunction with her colleagues Sara Cardellicchio, Federica Pancotti and Maurizio Pietrobon.
Sogin and Nucleco set up a stand, where they presented their primary operations to professionals, students and the inquisitive public, highlighting the skills and technologies of the Italian nuclear supply chain, including the project of the National Repository and Technology Park. Distinguished visitors included the Minister of the Environment and Energy Security, Gilberto Pichetto Fratin, who was welcomed by our CEO.
During the event, Sogin received a special award: a plaque celebrating 25 years of operations, which was handed to the Chairman Carlo Massagli. This tribute recognises Sogin's ongoing commitment to promoting a broad and systemic vision for a just transition, underlining the importance of the protection and enhancement of the territory. Nucleco’s CEO, Agostino Rivieccio, was also in attendance.
Recognition that represents an example of excellence for the country, Europe and at global level.
