The low and medium activity radioactive waste resulted from the plant’s activity and decommissioning operations are stored in a specifically created interim storage facility.
The new structure was built between 2009 and 2014, and it consists of a concrete rectangular building with a surface of about 2,000 square metres.
The facility, in line with the most modern standards, consists of two storage areas and a service area.
The waste storage area is evenly divided by a wall in reinforced concrete and it is provided with two gantries that are remotely controlled from a specific control room.
The interim storage facility entered into service in 2018.
