Sogin signs technical assistance contract for the nuclear decommissioning program of the JRC-ISPRA site

Following an international tender, on October 13th
Sogin, the Italian state-owned company responsible for the
decommissioning and radioactive waste management in Italy, signed an
8-year framework contract on "Decommissioning and radioactive Waste
Management Programme Implementation Assistance Services 2017-2024" with
the Joint Research Center of the European Commission (JRC).
This contract will allow JRC to access Sogin's wide range of
technical expertise to support the D&WM Programme Management. The
required services encompass technical assessment and studies, assistance
in licensing and authorization procedure, assessment of nuclear safety
and risk issues, support in quality assurance for decommissioning
issues, legal assistance with nuclear regulatory matters and assessment
of technical proposals.
For Sogin this contract represents a confirmation of its
international strategy to make decommissioning efforts more sustainable
thanks to a proprietary project management methodology.
