The adaptation of premise B106 - located within the BLD1 building - into a Temporary Repository enables storing the site's radioactive waste pending its conferment to the
National Repository.
In 2017, Sogin started adaptation works on the B106 premise and stored radioactive waste in a building close to BLD1, called BLD11.
Having completed the adaptation works of premise B106 into a
Temporary Repository, the Company ran functional tests on all plants and systems in place in the Repository. Such tests were successfully concluded in February 2021 in the presence of ISIN. Subsequently, an investigation to obtain the Operating License of the B106 premise as a Temporary Repository. The authorisation to operate, obtained in September 2021, enabled us to start transferring the final conditioned products from the temporary buffer station BLD11 to the Temporary Repository B106. The loading activity ended in December 2021 with the storage of all radioactive waste of the site pending their future conferment to the
National Repository.
